Creating AutoCAD points from Civil points

A: To convert Civil points to AutoCADĀ® points in Civil 3D:
  1. Open the drawing containing the Civil points.
  2. On the Toolspace menu, click Settings > Point > Point Syles.
  3. Create a new point style.
  4. In the Point Style dialog box, click the Marker tab.
  5. On the Marker tab, select the Use AutoCAD Point for marker option.
  6. Click the Display tab.
  7. On the Display tab, set the Label to invisible.
  8. Apply the Point Style created in Step 3 to the point group that should be converted. On the Toolspace menu, click Prospector.
  9. Right-click on the point group you want to convert. Click Properties.
  10. In the Point Group Properties dialog box, on the Information tab, select the point style created in Step 3.
  11. In the drawing, use the AutoCAD Explode command to explode the points 3 times.

B: Alternatively export the drawing to AutoCAD:
  1. On the File menu, click Export DWG > choose the desired format
  2. Save this drawing with a name different from the original
  3. Open the new AutoCAD DWG format drawing
  4. Use MAPEXPORT to export to a SHP or SDF file

C: To convert AutoCADĀ® points to Civil 3D points:
  1. Navigate to Home tab  Create Ground Data panel  Points menu  Convert AutoCAD Points 
  2. Select the AutoCAD points to be converted
  3. For each point, if prompted, enter the point name and description.
