Create an Area Plan in Autocad Civil 3D
- Click Architecture tabRoom & Area panelArea drop-down (Area Plan).
- In the New Area Plan dialog, for Type, select an area scheme.
- Select a level for the area plan view.If you select more than one level, Revit creates a separate area plan for each level and groups them by area scheme in the Project Browser.
- To create unique area plan views, select Do not duplicate existing views. To create copies of existing area plan views, clear Do not duplicate existing views.
- For Scale, select the area plan scale.
- Click OK.Revit prompts you to automatically create area boundary lines associated with all external walls.
- Select one of the following:
- Yes: Revit places the boundary lines along the exterior walls of a closed loop.
- No: You sketch the area boundary lines.
Tip: Revit cannot automatically create area boundary lines in external walls that are not closed in a loop.Tip: If the project includes a ruled curtain system within the exterior wall loop, you must sketch the area boundary, because ruled curtain systems are not walls - Add more area boundaries, as needed.
